Mr. Brett Stuart
A founding partner of Denver, Colorado based Global AgriTrends, Mr. Stuart has provided agricultural analysis and forecasting to clients around the world since 2006. Global AgriTrends focuses on providing research, analysis, and forecasting of the global agriculture sector. In the past, Stuart has worked for the U.S. Meat Export Federation as their economist lead and provided international analysis for CattleFax. Stuart recieved his undergraduate degree in accounting at Utah State University and an MBA from the University of Nebraska.
A vision for the sustainable roundtable for egg production
Mr. Carlos Saviani
The Vice President of World Wildlife Fund’s food team, Mr. Saviani leads the organization’s efforts to promote the sustainable production of meat, seafood, and dairy products. He has worked in the industry for 25 years and has extensive experience in animal protein sustainability, dairy and beef production efficiency, customer relationship management, strategy, marketing, and innovation. Saviani received his B.S. from the University of Sao Paulo and his MBA at the University of Toronto.
A Model for Sustainable Egg Production in Sub-Saharan Africa
Mr. Bruce Dooyema
As Logistics Coordinator of Center Fresh Egg Farms, Mr. Dooyema works both as an national and international egg producer. Center Fresh Farms are located in four Iowa Counties as well as in the african nation of Mozambique. Dooyema serves on many local, state, and national Agricultural boards and advisory Committees. As the father of three daughters, Dooyema knows that his family expects the same high-quality, affordable, safe eggs that consumers demand.
AEB: A Vision for the Future
Ms. Anne Alonzo
As new President and CEO of AEB, Ms. Alonzo is a recognized leader with significant experience in agriculture, food, and sustainability. Dedicating much of her professional life to public service, she has served in key leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the USDA. Alonzo holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a JD from the Chicago Kent College of Law.
Lessons learned from moving an industry to cage-free Production
Dr. Rudolf Preisinger
Dr. Preisinger serves as managing director and chief geneticist at Lohmann Tierzucht GmbH and chief technical officer for the EW Group. Preisinger has vast knowledge and experiences in animal breeding, genetics, and husbandry. He is also an active member on a number of boards including the Poultry Association of Germany, the National Competent Circle for Animal Welfare (Germany), and the World Poultry Science Association.
Considerations in building the facilities of the future
Mr. Tom Lohr
As director of domestic and international poultry sales with Henning Construction Company, and CEO of Iowa Cage Free, Mr. Lohr has built a prominent reputation in the egg, and poultry industries. Lohr has helped in the design process and construction of 16 new hatcheries and 3 million bird pullet rearing and laying complex in China. Lohr is highly accomplished in the areas of strategic planning, team building, and biosecurity.
Plans of preventing and handling HPAI for the future
Dr. Steven Halstead
Dr. Halstead has served as the USDA APHIS director of surveillance, preparedness and response services since 2014. He has worked in mixed species veterinary medicine and served as a field veterinarian for the Michigan Department of Agriculture. Halstead went on to practice as an equine and companion animal vet before becoming Michigan’s State Veterinarian. Halstead recieved his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
The state of avian influenza research
Dr. Hongwei Xin
A Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor at Iowa State University, Dr. Xin works in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and Animal Science Departments specializing in animal production systems engineering. He also serves as the Director of the Egg Industry Center, and is Assistant Dean for Research within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Dr. Xin received his B.S. degree in Shenyang Agricultural University in China, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nebraska. Many of his 60 former advisees currently hold positions in industry or university and govern-ment institutions in the U.S. or abroad. Dr. Xin has authored/co-authored over 500 publications and has presented in over 16 countries. He is a member of many academic, industry, and government scientific advisory boards or task forces at state, national and global levels.
Ensiling poultry carcasses for biosecure preservation and virus destruction
Dr. Paul Patterson
Professor and poultry science extension specialist for Penn State University, Dr. Patterson is an expert on poultry and environmental factors. He holds a doctorate degree in poultry science and nutritional science from the University of WisconsinMadison, and gears his research towards enhancing producer profitability and improving egg production, quality, and food safety. Patterson serves as editor for the World Poultry Science Association, USA and on many other boards.
The egg industry: A lender’s perceptive
Mr. Jeff Coit
Mr. Coit serves as the Vice President agricultural lender in the poultry industry for Farm Credit Services of America’s Agri-business Finance Team. Providing financial services to both the egg and turkey industries, Coit has worked with the egg industry over 22 years. Coit recieved his B.S. in Agricultural Economics and Finance from North Dakota State University. He is also involved with the Iowa Poultry Association.
Our Customer’s view of sustainability over the next 5-10 years
Ms. Jill Scandridge Manata
Ms. Manata is the Vice President of global public affairs and engagement for McDonald’s Corporation. Manata is responsible for leading strategies and establishing relationships that support the company’s corporate vision and sustainability initiaties. Manata has been with the company since 2000 and has worked with global food, packaging, and promotional suppliers to de velop and implementa code of conduct Manata holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.
Dr. Justin Ransom
Dr. Ransom is the Senior Director of supply chain management and quality systems for McDonald’s Corporation. He provides leadership in strategic planning of supplier management relative to food safety, quality systems, and animal welfare, while telling our positive food story. Ransom earned his B.S. in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Animal Science, Meat Science and Food Safety from Michigan State and Colorado State, respectively.
